BlackTable produced a series of sculptures for artist Kirsten Kay Thoen. Our workshop collaborated in every step of the artist’s creation process, designing strategies for the piece’s creation and installation: An internally lit 8’-6” high pendulum hanging from the ceiling, showcasing translucid photographs.
Not only the structural components did not interfere with the artist’s vision and light treatment, they even became crucial to the piece’s final aesthetic.
These components were created by using transparent resin that allowed light to come through and connected printed panels, thus creating a single diamond shaped photo-sculpture.
