Who we are

BlackTable is a design/fabrication studio with a background in Architecture.
The studio’s creative processes are driven by the influence of digital manufacture technologies and traditional handcraft techniques. Our understanding of digital design and fabrication technology allows us to execute with precision any type of proposal, structure or piece, always with a dynamic process rather than the execution of a static idea.

Our Founder

The studio was founded in 2013 by Architect Carlos Meza, who holds a B.A. from Javeriana University in Bogotá, Colombia and an M.A. in Advanced Studies Design from Pratt Institute in New York City. In 2005, Meza was awarded a commission to design a public library for the city of Villanueva, Colombia. The project has been widely praised in journals as well as national and international publications, including an honorable mention in the Colombian Architecture Biennale. Meza has also designed projects in China, the United States and worked as 3D Modeling and Digital Fabrication adjunct professor at Cooper Union University in NYC (2014-2016).
